The Epilepsy and Brain Mapping Program is a comprehensive healthcare center for treating adult and pediatric epilepsy and other neurological disorders with seizures. Our medical and surgical center offers people with epilepsy a multitude of treatment options including medical management of seizures through established anti-epileptic medications and clinical drug trials, ketogenic diet, surgical treatment and cognitive and psychological assessment, counseling and rehabilitation.

Epilepsy and Brain Mapping Program Fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology in Pasadena, California.
There is an opening for the fellowship position for June 2010 to May 2012. The fellowship gives 2 years of comprehensive training in long term monitoring Video-EEG, operating room and intensive care recording and in clinical management and presurgical evaluation of epilepsy. There is complete training in EEG, Evoked Potentials, Cortical Stimulation Eloquent Cortex Mapping, and Source Reconstruction co-registered with Image Data. The Program has eight bed adult and two bed pediatric telemetry monitoring units with dedicated nursing staffs. There are 3 Attending Neurologists, two adult and one pediatric. The Program’s surgeons perform intra-operative image guided surgery.
The Epilepsy and Brain Mapping Program is a Fourth Level Epilepsy Center of the National Association of Epilepsy Centers, serving the greater Los Angeles Metropolitan Area for the last 17 years. It offers comprehensive treatment of epilepsy including medication, surgery, vagal nerve stimulation and ketogenic diets. In addition to treating a large patient volume with the common types of epilepsy, it also specializes in the treatment of the more complex cases of neocortical partial epilepsy. Huntington Hospital is a 600 bed tertiary referral hospital with 3T MRI, fMRI, PET and SPECT scanners. There is a large referral base from the San Fernando and San Gabriel Valleys with active outpatient consult offices.
The fellowship is designed to prepare the Neurologist for the Certification Examination of the American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology. The Program has been involved in research in source reconstruction for presurgical localization and has ongoing clinical trials, with the opportunity to do research during the fellowship.
